We begin this special offering by defining ‘Rasayana’, derived from the Sanskrit words ‘rasa’ meaning essence and ‘ayana’ meaning path, and is the Way towards rejuvenation and vitality and radiant health of mind, body and soul. It encompasses a wide array of medicines and lifestyle practices designed to nourish the body’s tissues, promote longevity, and combat the effects of aging. It is the regaining of original health and vital force, the healing of psychic and spiritual wounds and the peak alchemical way of personal transformation and transmutation. The trilogy of writings presented are the main herbs, skillful methods, and data on these complex of medicines/protocols that are called rasayana therapy. This listing for the printed Rasayana trilogy publications, the brass kamandalu, and the elixirs.
The kamandal is the quintessential elixir pot, the ritual paraphernalia of all true yogi, of the sadhu, of all Siddha masters. It is the Kamandalam that contains the precious amrita (cognate with the Greek ambrosia, the deathless water, the soma elixir, the visionary plant of the Arya sages in the Rig Veda) and at the core of all Vedic, esoteric Buddhist and Tantric rites. Most depictions of Shiva show him with this ritual kamandal, which holds nectar and it symbolizes the purification of the mind. This is the vessel to store one’s water during the evening to create the rejuvenating tamara water as holy water for healing, meditation and ablutions. It is the most central and sometimes only item a yogi will even agree to ‘own.’
Amongst infinite amounts of holy lore and mythos, we confine a few example of this powerful implement in the holy writings of the Aryans. The Mahabharata records the god Dhanvantari brought Amrita (literally deathless, an elixir of the Gods) in a kamandalu, when he emerged from the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthana). The Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the Jain saints, the Tantrik and Vedic guru, ascetics, goddess all can be seen carrying this pot the supreme symbol of health, of medical science, of divine power and spiritual authority. The mythical Sarasvati river traces her creation legends to the creator-god Brahma’s kamandalu and the river Ganges is also believed to flow through Brahma’s kamandalu. It is thus at the core of the entire Vedic conception of the world’s creation, it is a microcosm of the alchemical Great Work, and an essential aspect to one’s ritual healing. It is a vessel for the deepest practices of Tantra, of elixir alchemy, of the soma visionary rites as well as a daily Guru, a guide and reminder to recalibrate and adjust back to the healing Way in daily practices. We secure the highest quality, tested for food grade puritity and empowered with the Guru in the sacred Mahasiddha temple Lamp Siddha and the divine doctor, Agastya who is the MahaSiddha (Great Adept) who founded Siddha medicine. Siddha medicine is, in our opinion, the most exalted and superior form of medicine for chronic illness, longevity and recovery of vital health on earth. Although related to Ayurveda, it is a refined and more powerful form with spiritual and alchemical dimensions that are supreme in efficacy and efficiency.
The Rasayana Trilogy is the result of a lifetime of study and life saving personal practice of this traditional healing science.
Volume 1 gives the fundamentals of health and principles or root causes of disease and the alchemical worldview of generating radiant health through nourishing with the divine ancestral ‘soma’ herbs. As the first of the series, it presents the top rasayana herbal ingredients, that comprise a system of 108 medicinal plants, plus the Guru plant. The future volumes will be the herbal entries for the remaining plants. Included in this volume are many excerpts from the Rig Veda praising soma and healing mantras, herbal entries for ashwagandha, brahmi, kalmegh, mandukparni, shilajit, triphala, tulsi, and discussion of the more esoteric aspects and objectives, and yogic uses of these herbs for healing, meditation and Tapasya (the secret fire and purifying inner heat generated from meditation, herbs, spiritual ecstasy that heals and transmutes the body into radiant health and the numinous form). (40 pages)
Volume 2 is a deep inquiry into the Vedic Soma and considerations of the broader Indo-European visionary herbal and medicinal traditions. It is a exposition of the ‘Plant As Guru’ concept taught within certain sects of Tantric Shaivite and Siddha systems, kayakalpa secrets, and Aryan medicine systems. It is concentrated on two of the most powerful visionary herbs that are ‘soma’ plants of the highest order. (64 pages)
Volume 3 regards research into the origins of alchemy, which seems to have arisen spontaneously, simultaneously around the ancient world with no proto-typical precursors. The alchemical sciences simply appeared all over, using the same ingredients, the same symbols, the same goals, language, and techniques. These are all in groups associated with the Original People, what we call the Hyperboreans, the central unknown family and parent to the Indo-European cultures. They have the same cultic symbols, visionary plants, cosmology, rituals, languages, core culture and theology and worldview.
